26 August 2008 - ECS introduce an innovative motherboard, G43T-WM, supporting Intel® Remote Wake Technology which can switch ON a computer that is connected to an internet from a remote computer. The major difference between current “Remote Wake” PC solutions is that it could be resumed by remote device in a sleep mode to avoid unnecessary power consumption with PC fully on. Users wake up their home PCs from sleep mode instead of keeping their home PCs ON all day.

9 August 2008 - MSI will officially promote its latest high C/P value mainboard series – DKA790GX. MSI DKA790GX series mainboard based on AMD 790GX and SB750 chipset. This solution brings the new technology “Advanced Clock Calibration” for extreme user. In the BIOS or AMD Overdrive software of DKA790GX, user can enable ACC option to improve communication with Black Edtion Phenom CPU, removing a previous bottleneck and improving the maximum overclocking. 8 August 2008 - BIOSTAR Microtech Int'l Corp., a professional manufacturer of motherboards has launched T-Series TA790GX A2+, which is an integrated motherboard based on the AMD 790GX chipset with ATI Radeon HD 3300 graphics.

25 June 2008 - BIOSTAR announces that a well-known overclocker nicknamed Youngpro broke FSB world record with FSB 725MHz using TPower I45 Motherboard. Youngpro, who is based in Australia, first reached 685MHz, but then trumped his own record by using LN2 and broke the FSB world record by climbing to as high as 725MHz. He also managed to get his CPU up and running at a stunning 6GHz frequency.

14 June 2008 - MCP7A chipset is the next flagship product from NVIDIA supporting Intel processors which will compete against Intel G45 chipset. It is single chip and comes with integrated DX10 capable graphics core. Nvidia has planned out 9 different SKUs of the MCP7A and all except one supports Hybrid SLI. This particular model, MC7A-D-SLI is newly planned out and it comes without integrated graphics core and no Hybrid SLI support. It should be one of the cheapest SLI board around when launched compared to the rest of the SLI capable SKUs like MCP7A-SLI and MCP7A-GL.

9 August 2008 - The new ASUS M3A78-T, with an integrated GPU utilizes the AMD platform, and is able to boost graphics with different modes such as Hybrid CrossFireX or Quad-CrossFire. For users who opt to only utilize the integrated GPU without any add-on graphics card, the M3A78-T adopts SidePort – an onboard DDR3 memory module that can be utilized as shared memory to enhance onboard graphical performance.

15 July 2008 - PC enthusiasts, manufacturers, and developers around the world have a lot to be excited about today with NVIDIA’s announcement that it will be bringing the power and performance of its SLI® multi-GPU technology to Intel’s upcoming line of Bloomfield CPUs. New SLI motherboards will feature the NVIDIA nForce® 200 SLI processor, Intel Bloomfield CPUs, and Tylersburg (X58) chipsets. The nForce 200 SLI processor features patented SLI technology for graphics bandwidth management and multi-GPU peer-to-peer communications, both required to optimize graphics performance.

18 June 2008 - The 31st edition of the TOP500 list was released today in Dresden, Germany. The T2K Open Supercomputer Systems featuring Quad-Core AMD Opteron?processors, TYAN 4-socket server platforms, and developed by the University of Tokyo is ranked No. 16 on the Top 500 list worldwide, and also is the No.1 top ranked supercomputer in Japan.
