World GameMaster Tournament 2007 Kick Off @ GCA
21 August 2007 - 2007 marks the 2nd year in running for World GameMaster Tournament (WGT) – one of the world’s largest gaming tournament which aims to nurture budding gamers and at the same time, provide the professional gamers with a platform to pit their skill amongst one another. The World Gamemaster Tournament will kick off at GCA from the 6th to 9th Sept 2007. Finals will be played out at Funan DigitaLife Mall from the 27th to 30th Sept 2007. Besides the gaming competition, ASUS will also be providing top-of-the-line gaming notebooks for the public can try their hands on. Visitors can expect a myriad of activities to participate in at WGT in GCA; photo taking contests, lucky draws and give-away sessions will be conducted throughout the whole day.

BenQ Becomes Qisha But Brand Name Remains
21 June 2007 - DigiTimes reports that BenQ will change its Chinese name from "Jia Da" to "Jias Da" and official English name for the new company will be Qisda, which stands for "quality innovation speed driving and achievements." The new names will be effective on September 1, 2007. BenQ will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Qisda and will keep BenQ as its brand name. The own-brand product lines will remain the same as now, covering wireless communication products, mobile phones, LCD monitors, LCD TVs, Joybook notebooks, optical storage products, MFPs and scanners but Qisda will not compete for notebook OEM/ODM orders. With a spin-off project, Qisda is expected to turn profitable in 2008, said chairman of BenQ.
