6 July 2007 - Atlas Sound & Vision, Singapore’s leading premium audio visual retailer and distributor, today announced the availability of the limited edition Loewe Individual television adorned with Swarovski crystals. The high resolution LCD panels (1366 x 768 pixels) combined with the new Loewe Digital+ platform allow for optimal viewing pleasure and brilliant pictures in 16:9 cinema format with visible screen diagonals of 66 or 80 centimetres. The Swarovski Loewe Individual edition is available in Dark Crystal or Light Crystal and is strictly limited to 1,000 units globally. 19 March 2007 - Four LCD displays we feel stole the CeBIT limelight; 30" LED BLU LCD monitor from Samsung, 42" 3D LCD from NEC, 42" Weather Proof LCD from Sanyo and lastly world's largest 108" LCD from Sharp. Samsung SyncMaster XL30 incorporates LED as backlight source for richer colors. It also sports features such as 3,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 2ms response time and a 170 degrees viewing angle. For the NEC 3D LCD, not much details are being revealed at this point of time but the combination of two 42" LCDs give a 3D effect. Sanyo has weather resistance 42LM4WPN LCD TV protected by anti reflected tamper glass for outdoor usage. Sharp has the largest AQUOS LCD over at CeBIT topping at 108"

1 March 2007 - LG Electronics (LG), a global leader in high-performance liquid crystal display (LCD) technology, today introduced its 2007 line of innovative LCD computer monitors for the APAC market which are all "Certified for Windows Vista" widescreen LCDs. The three flagship models, which range in size from 19- to 22-inches and incorporate Microsoft's Industrial Design Toolkit (IDT), highlight LG's broad lineup of LCD monitors for 2007.

10 January 2007 - Intel and Samsung officially put their weight behind the Displayport 1.1 specification at a press conference at the CES. With their support the competing Universal Display Port (UDI) effort is essentially dead. DisplayPort backers see the interconnect as the digital successor to analog VGA, the Digital Visual Interface used on TVs and PCs and the Low Voltage Differential Signaling links used inside notebooks and monitors. UDI, a variant of the High Definition Multimedia Interface seeing rapid uptake in HDTV sets. Intel has been quietly working in the background for about a year to port its High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) software from HDMI to DisplayPort which uses a very different architecture. HDCP version 1.3 is now available for both HDMI and DisplayPort.

23 July 2007 - LG today announced the Launch of the LB9 LCD TVs, the first in the company’s Design Art series. 25 May 2007 - LG announced the launch of its new 2007 line of premium Full HD LCD TV and plasma TVs. The LB7RF series LCD TVs will be released in 42- and 47-inch sizes (models: 42LB7RF and 47LB7RF) while the Full HD plasma TVs will be available in 60- and 71-inch sizes (models: 60PY3RF and 71PY1M). All models are equipped with the exclusive LG’s ‘07 New XD Engine with full HD processing capabilities. The new LB7RF series TVs fully immerse viewers in lifelike Blu-ray movies and other Full HD content, offering distortion-free digital images. The 42-inch model is priced at $5,999 and the 47-inch model at $7,999. The LG 60PY3RF has a depth of only 452 mm, the convenience of a swivel stand and soft touch buttons with an infra-red motion sensor for elegant operation. The LG 60PY3RF is priced at $19,999. 18 March 2007 - Sharp has two new Aquos LCD TVs in 46" and 52" sizes and they support Full HD in 1080p resolution with in-built video recorder. Other features includes picture refresh rate at 100Hz, 4ms response time, and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. Sharp also has put the world's largest LCD TV topping at 108".

5 February 2007 - With the newly released Microsoft Vista™ operating system supporting widescreens and the increasing multimedia requirements of users, the display market trend is migrating towards higher resolutions and wider screens. ASUS’s MW221U and MW201U widescreen monitors have passed the WHQL tests and are both certified for Windows Vista™ Premium version. Both monitors will bring a more plentiful graphic experience to users and ASUS will launch more LCD monitors that will meet the Windows Vista™ Criteria in the future.

4 January 2007 - Samsung has created the first LCD panel that can produce independent images on each side of a mobile LCD display. Samsung's new double-sided LCD can show two entirely different pictures or sets of visual data simultaneously on the front and back of the same screen. Other conventional double-sided LCDs can only show a reverse image of the same video data. This new development will replace two display panels with one, thereby reducing overall thickness of mobile products by at least 1mm. The new double-sided LCD is 2.6mm thick and 2.22" wide, with QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution, and has brightness values of 250 nits for the front and 100 nits for the rear display. It will be exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show, which opens in Las Vegas on January 8.

26 October 2006 - A research team led by Samsung Electronics has developed a high-resolution dual capacity display that allows 3-D images to be viewed on a flat- panel display without special filter glasses. Samsung has already built a 17-inch monitor prototype of the 3D display, which uses binocular disparity and time sequential "lens plus barrier" systems. It plans to complete development soon on a 19-inch commercial monitor. The new 3D display will hit the market in 2009 when new demand for a wide range of IT-related applications such as online games, e-shopping and 3D Web content will be ready.
