Computex 2008: Unique UMPCs spotted The BELCO Alpha 400
We spotted an interesting UMPC on display in a booth during Computex 2008.
Powered by XBurst 400 Mhz 32bit RISC CPU, the Alpha 400 runs Linux as its pre-installed Operating System.
It comes with 128MB RAM and 1-2GB of internal flash. Storage options includes usage of SD card of up to 32 GB via the internal SD card slot. The 7-inch LCD monitor screen offers 800 x 480 resolution.
Network access is available via an Ethernet port or an optional USB WiFi dongle. Earphone, microphone jacks are also available. The 21.2 X 14.2 X 3.3 cm laptop weighs only 0.7 Kg and is available in six colors.
The Alpha 400's pre-installed, open source software includes Xiptech's Xip Word and Xip Table which is compatible with Microsoft Office.
